Chelsea Crowned Champions of Europe
Blues Secure Second Champions League Triumph
Mount Strike Seals Victory Over Manchester City
Chelsea have been crowned champions of Europe for the second time after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the 2021 UEFA Champions League final.
The match was settled in the first half when Mason Mount scored the only goal, breaking through Manchester City's defense with a composed finish in the 42nd minute.
The final was originally scheduled to be played at Istanbul's Atatürk Olympic Stadium, but COVID-19 restrictions forced UEFA to relocate the match to the Estadio do Dragao in Porto, Portugal.
The teams had met twice during the Premier League season, with each side winning away from home. City won the first match 3-1 at Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea won the second 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea's victory is their second Champions League title, after their first triumph in 2012. It is also manager Thomas Tuchel's first major trophy with the club.
