Boeing 767 Cargo Plane Operating for Amazon Air

Atlas Air Flight 3591, a Boeing 767 operating for Amazon Air, crashed into Trinity Bay during its approach into Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport on December 19, 2019, at 10:03 PM EST. The plane, which had originated from Miami International Airport, was carrying three crew members, all of whom were fatally injured in the crash.

Investigation Ongoing

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating the cause of the crash. The agency has recovered the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder from the wreckage and is in the process of analyzing the data. The NTSB has also interviewed witnesses and is examining the plane's maintenance records.

Older Sibling Praised for Heroism

In a separate incident, the oldest of four children who survived a plane crash in the Amazon jungle was praised for her heroic role in keeping her siblings alive. The plane, a single-engine Cessna, crashed in a remote area of the jungle in January 2019. The pilot and three passengers were killed in the crash, but the four children survived. The oldest child, who is 12 years old, was able to keep her siblings calm and help them build a shelter. The children were rescued after three days.
