Joining Amazon Web Services and my role as VP Distinguished Scientist

Introduction

I am delighted to share my journey with Amazon Web Services (AWS). I joined the company in July 2016 and have since taken on the role of VP Distinguished Scientist for Machine Learning. I am based in Santa Clara and am responsible for leading the team developing new machine learning technologies and applications.

My role at AWS

As VP Distinguished Scientist, I oversee a team of researchers and engineers working on a wide range of machine learning projects. Our work spans a variety of domains, including computer vision, natural language processing, and speech recognition. We are also developing new machine learning algorithms and techniques to make machine learning more accessible and efficient.

My background

I have been working in the field of machine learning for over 20 years. Prior to joining AWS, I was a professor at the University of California, Berkeley. I also co-founded a number of successful machine learning startups.
