Do Antique Cars Need Inspections in Virginia?

Registration Procedures

According to the Virginia DMV fact sheet, if the vehicle is more than 25 model years old before January 1 of the current year, it is considered an antique vehicle and is exempt from the annual safety inspection. However, the vehicle must still be registered with the DMV.

Antique Vehicle Registration

To register an antique vehicle in Virginia, you will need to provide the following: * A completed Application for Vehicle Registration (Form VSA 19) * Proof of ownership, such as a bill of sale or title * Payment of the applicable registration fee

Antique License Plates
