Amazon today announced the opening of a new German fulfillment center in Kaiserslautern, Rhineland. The new facility will create hundreds of new jobs and support the growing demand for Amazon's products and services in Germany.

The Kaiserslautern fulfillment center is Amazon's 11th in Germany. The facility is 110,000 square meters in size, the equivalent of 17 football fields. It will be used to store and ship a wide variety of products, including books, electronics, and household goods.

The new fulfillment center is part of Amazon's continued investment in its German operations. The company has invested more than €1 billion in Germany since 2010, and now employs more than 12,000 people in the country.

“We are excited to open our new fulfillment center in Kaiserslautern,” said Ralf Kleber, Amazon's Vice President of Operations for Germany. “This investment will create hundreds of new jobs and help us to better serve our customers in Germany.”
