Amazon to Update ISBN Requirements for Book Listings
Effective January 1, 2023, Amazon will require all book listings to include an International Standard Book Number (ISBN).
This change will help ensure that books are properly cataloged and easily searchable on Amazon's website.
Previously, Amazon allowed sellers to list books without ISBNs, but this often led to confusion and difficulty for customers trying to find specific titles. The new ISBN requirement will help to streamline the listing process and make it easier for customers to find the books they're looking for.
To obtain an ISBN, authors can contact the ISBN Agency in their country. Once an ISBN has been assigned, it can be added to the book's listing on Amazon.
Amazon is also reminding sellers that they must be an Amazon Selling Partner in order to sell books on the website. Sellers can become an Amazon Selling Partner by following the instructions on the Amazon website.
