Former AEW star Cody Rhodes has opened up about an incident that may have strained his relationship with wrestler JD McDonagh.

During a recent appearance on R-Truth's “What Do You Wanna Talk About” podcast, Rhodes discussed an event at the OTT Being The Elite show in Ireland in December 2017.

Rhodes was booked in a triple threat match, and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he went over the allotted time limit. This took away from the main event, which featured McDonagh against Mark Haskins.

Rhodes admitted that he “went heavy on time” and said he now feels he owes McDonagh.

“I think I owe him some time,” Rhodes said. “I think I owe him a lot of time.”

The relationship between Rhodes and McDonagh has been strained in the past. In 2020, the two had a heated exchange on social media.
