Jenna Ortega in Talks to Join Glen Powell in J.J. Abrams' Next Movie

Jenna Ortega is in final talks to join Glen Powell in J.J. Abrams' next movie, a source close to the project tells Variety. The untitled mystery project is for Warner Bros. and Bad Robot, Abrams' production company.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is described as a time-travel adventure. Abrams will direct and produce the film, with Hannah Minghella and Jon Cohen overseeing for Bad Robot.
Ortega is coming off a breakout year, with starring roles in the Netflix series “Wednesday” and the slasher film “X.” Powell is also having a moment, with recent roles in “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Devotion.”
The untitled Abrams movie will be the director's first since 2019's “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” He has been busy with other projects in the meantime, including the Apple TV+ series “Lisey's Story” and the upcoming HBO Max series “Demimonde.”
Ortega and Powell are both represented by CAA. Ortega is also represented by Management 360, and Powell is also represented by Lighthouse Management + Media.
