Father Found Guilty of Arranging Son's Murder

Freddie Lee Trone Convicted in PnB Rock Case

A Los Angeles County jury on Wednesday found Freddie Lee Trone guilty of sending his 17-year-old son, Shauntel Trone, to kill rapper PnB Rock in a Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles restaurant September 12, 2022.

Prosecutors argued that Freddie Lee Trone drove his son to the restaurant armed with a handgun and waited outside while Shauntel Trone went inside and fatally shot the rapper during a robbery attempt.

During the trial, Freddie Lee Trone testified that he had no knowledge of his son's plan to rob and kill PnB Rock and that he was shocked and horrified when he heard about his son's involvement in the crime.

However, the jury rejected Freddie Lee Trone's testimony, finding him guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy. He faces a possible life sentence in prison.

Shauntel Trone, now 18, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and robbery in November and is expected to be sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The murder of PnB Rock, whose real name was Rakim Allen, sent shockwaves through the music industry and raised concerns about the dangers faced by celebrities in public spaces.

Conclusion: This tragic case serves as a sobering reminder of the devastating consequences of violence and the profound impact it can have on both the victims and their loved ones. It also highlights the importance of holding accountable those who orchestrate such heinous crimes, regardless of their relationship to the perpetrator.
