Journey's Legal Battles: Cain Accuses Schon of Credit Card Misuse
Lawsuit Alleges Maxed-Out Corporate Card
Jonathan Cain, keyboardist and co-songwriter for the rock band Journey, has filed a lawsuit against Neal Schon, the band's lead guitarist and co-founder.
Maxed-Out Credit Card Limit
According to the lawsuit filed in Bloomberg Law, Cain accuses Schon of maxing out the band's corporate credit card, reaching its $1 million limit. The suit alleges that these expenses were related to the band's 50th anniversary tour, which has since been canceled.
Frustrations with Tour Expenses
Cain claims that he became frustrated with Schon's extravagant spending, particularly in light of the financial challenges faced by the band during the pandemic. He argues that Schon's actions have caused significant financial harm to Journey.
Canceled UK and Ireland Tour
As a result of the legal dispute, Journey has canceled the UK and Ireland leg of their 50th anniversary tour. The canceled shows were listed on the band's website.
Previous Credit Card Lawsuit
This lawsuit is not the first time that Journey has faced legal issues regarding a band credit card. In 2022, a previous suit was filed, also involving allegations of credit card misuse by Schon.
The ongoing legal battles within Journey highlight the potential for financial disputes and the importance of responsible financial management within bands.
