David Boreanaz has shed light on the departure of Clay Spenser from SEAL Team, emphasizing its necessity for maintaining authenticity in the high-risk world portrayed by the show. Having recently wrapped filming on the series finale, Boreanaz shared his reflections at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival.

In a candid interview, Boreanaz acknowledged the emotional toll of depicting the realities of military combat. “These are dangerous missions we're portraying,” he said. “We wanted to stay true to that authenticity, and sometimes that means characters don't make it home.” Boreanaz believes Clay's death serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by military personnel in real life.

The intense filming schedule and demanding physicality of SEAL Team took its toll on Boreanaz. “I had four MRIs in the last four months of shooting,” he revealed. “My body is saying, 'Hey, give me a rest.'” With the series now concluded, Boreanaz is ready to prioritize his health and well-being.

Boreanaz praised the show for highlighting the importance of brotherhood and camaraderie within the SEAL community. “It's been an incredibly emotional and moving experience for all of us,” he said. “We've gotten to tell some great stories and really honor these guys who put their lives on the line for our country.”
