Robert Zemeckis' 'Here' to Premiere Sooner Than Expected

TriStar Pictures Moves Up Release Date for Upcoming Drama

Starring Tom Hanks, Film Spans a Century with Unmoving Camera

Sony Pictures has announced that it will be moving up the release date for its upcoming drama “Here,” directed by Robert Zemeckis. The film, which stars Tom Hanks, was originally scheduled to premiere in November 2023, but will now open in theaters on October 27, 2023.

“Here” is based on the acclaimed graphic novel of the same name by Richard McGuire. The film tells the story of a single room in a house over the course of a century, as it witnesses the lives of various characters who inhabit it. Hanks plays the role of a man who moves into the house in the 1920s and witnesses the changes that occur over the years.

Zemeckis, who previously collaborated with Hanks on films such as “Forrest Gump” and “Cast Away,” said that he was drawn to the project because of its unique storytelling style. “The graphic novel is told in a very unconventional way, with the same room being depicted over and over again from different perspectives,” he said. “I was immediately intrigued by the challenge of adapting it to film, and I think we've come up with a really innovative and visually stunning movie.”

The trailer for “Here” was released on Friday, giving audiences a glimpse of the film's unique visual style. The trailer shows Hanks' character moving through the same room over the course of decades, as the room itself undergoes various changes. The trailer also features a voiceover from Hanks, who says, “Every place has a story. And every story has a place.”

“Here” also stars Kelly Reilly, Robin Wright, and Paul Bettany. The film is produced by Zemeckis and Steve Starkey, with a screenplay by Zemeckis and Eric Roth.
