Colin Kaepernick and Nessa Diab Welcome First Child

Activist, athlete, and writer Colin Kaepernick and radio and television host Nessa Diab announced the birth of their first child, a son.

The couple posted a photo of the newborn on Instagram with the caption, “I'm so proud of you, my love,” Kaepernick wrote. “You gave birth to our beautiful son, and I couldn't be happier.”

Kaepernick, 35, is a former NFL quarterback who became a free agent in 2017 after kneeling during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustice.

He has since become an activist and author, releasing his best-selling memoir, “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” in 2020.

Diab, 42, is a radio and television host who has worked for MTV, BET, and iHeartMedia.

The couple has been dating since 2015 and announced their engagement in 2020.

They have not released any further details about their son, including his name or birth date.

Kaepernick and Diab's son is the couple's first child.

Kaepernick has one other child, a daughter, from a previous relationship.
