The NFL has two separate brackets that it uses to determine the salaries of practice squad players.

• Rookie practice players can earn anything from a basic average of $8,400 per week to $11,500 per week, depending on their draft status.
• Players who have accrued two or fewer seasons in the NFL are paid a fixed weekly salary every year. For the 2023 season, this salary is $11,500 per week.
• Veterans of three or more years are paid a minimum salary of $12,000 per week.

Practice squad rules and benefits
