Bulldogs Triumph in Record-Setting Victory

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Mississippi State Bulldogs pulled off a thrilling victory over the Ole Miss Rebels in their annual rivalry matchup on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, Mississippi.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Bulldogs took control of the game in the second half. Quarterback Will Rogers threw for a career-high 451 yards, including three touchdowns.

Running back Jo'quavious Marks added 132 yards and a touchdown on the ground. For the Rebels, quarterback Jaxson Dart passed for 296 yards, but he was also intercepted twice, including once in the end zone.

The Bulldogs' defense was also impressive, holding the Rebels to just 3.6 yards per carry. Mississippi State's win snapped a two-game losing streak and improved their record to 8-4 overall and 4-4 in SEC play.

Ole Miss fell to 8-5 overall and 4-4 in SEC play with the loss. The annual rivalry between Mississippi State and Ole Miss, known as the “Egg Bowl”, dates back to 1894. Mississippi State now leads the series 64-56-6.
