Seth Brown's Walk-Off Single Propels A's to Victory
A's Win Third Straight, Oakland Coliseum Erupts in Excitement
Brown's Heroics Lead Oakland to 4-3 Victory Against Angels
Seth Brown's walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Oakland Athletics to a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night at the Oakland Coliseum.
With the bases loaded and one out, Brown lined a 1-2 curveball from Angels reliever Ryan Tepera into left field, scoring pinch-runner Nick Allen from third base.
The walk-off hit capped a remarkable comeback for the A's, who trailed 3-1 entering the bottom of the eighth inning. Ramón Laureano's solo home run off Angels reliever Mike Mayers cut the deficit to one, and Sean Murphy's RBI single tied the game in the ninth.
Brown's heroics extended the A's winning streak to three games and improved their record to 19-39 on the season.
The A's will look to make it four straight wins when they host the Angels again on Wednesday night at the Coliseum. First pitch is scheduled for 7:07 p.m. PT.
