Japan, UK, Italy to Provide Ukraine With More Military Aid

Coalition nations pledge to send additional weapons and equipment

Move comes as Russia continues to escalate attacks on civilian targets

The United Kingdom, Japan, and Italy have pledged to provide Ukraine with additional military aid, including weapons and equipment, to help the country defend itself against Russia's ongoing invasion.

The announcement was made during a meeting of the Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers in Germany, where they discussed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and the need to support the country's defense efforts.

The UK has pledged to send an additional £1 billion ($1.2 billion) in military aid to Ukraine, including anti-ship missiles, armored vehicles, and drones. Japan has pledged to provide $100 million in humanitarian aid, as well as non-lethal military equipment such as helmets and bulletproof vests.

Italy has pledged to send a package of military aid worth €100 million ($106 million), including artillery systems, anti-aircraft missiles, and ammunition.

The pledges of additional military aid come as Russia continues to escalate its attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine, including the recent shelling of a shopping mall in Kremenchuk that killed at least 18 people.

The Group of Seven foreign ministers condemned Russia's attacks on civilians and called on Russia to immediately end its aggression against Ukraine.

The additional military aid from the UK, Japan, and Italy is a significant boost to Ukraine's defense efforts. The weapons and equipment will help Ukraine to defend itself against Russia's attacks and to push back against the Russian invasion.
