S. Korea to Use Homegrown Transmission for K2 Tanks
South Korea has developed a domestically produced transmission for its K2 Black Panther main battle tanks, ending its reliance on foreign suppliers.
The new transmission, known as the EST15K, was developed by Hyundai WIA and is a major upgrade over the German-made Renk transmission previously used in the K2 tanks.

The new engine will be more powerful and efficient than the current K2 engine, and it will give the K3 tank a significant edge in battle.
The K3 tank is still in the early stages of development, but it is expected to enter service in the late 2020s.
