Chelsea's already lengthy injury list, which includes N'Golo Kante, Mason Mount and Armando Broja, has been extended with the news that Christian Pulisic will miss the clash against Napoli due to a bout of flu.
The news comes as a blow to Blues boss Graham Potter, who is already without a number of key players for the Champions League last-16 second leg at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Tuesday.
Pulisic had been expected to start the game after impressing in Chelsea's 2-0 win over Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
However, the American has now been ruled out of the trip to Italy, meaning Potter will have to reshuffle his attack.
Raheem Sterling and Hakim Ziyech are likely to start the game in attack, with Kai Havertz also an option for Potter.
Meanwhile, AC Milan will be without a number of players for the game against Tottenham in the Champions League last-16 second leg.
The Serie A champions are already without long-term absentees Mike Maignan, Fikayo Tomori and Alessandro Florenzi.
They will also be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ismael Bennacer and Davide Calabria for the game against Spurs.
