Cole Palmer: Chelsea starlet is a 'reason why people pay' to watch football
Chelsea youngster Cole Palmer has been praised for his impressive performances for the club's academy sides, with one coach saying he is a “reason why people pay” to watch football.
The 19-year-old midfielder has been in excellent form for the Blues' Under-23s this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in seven appearances.
Palmer has also made his debut for Chelsea's first team, playing in the Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in September.
And former Chelsea coach Jody Morris, who is now manager of League One side Portsmouth, believes Palmer has the potential to become a top player.
“Cole Palmer is a reason why people pay to watch football,” Morris told The Athletic.
“He's got that little bit of magic, that little bit of stardust. He can beat players, he can score goals, he can create chances. He's got everything.”
Palmer has been with Chelsea since he was eight years old and has progressed through the club's academy ranks.
He signed a new five-year contract with the Blues in July and is seen as one of the most promising young players at the club.
Palmer is a versatile player who can play in a number of positions in midfield.
He is a good passer of the ball and has a keen eye for goal.
Palmer is also a good dribbler and is not afraid to take on opponents.
He is a player with a lot of potential and could be a valuable asset to Chelsea in the years to come.
