Chelyabinsk tourists survived an earthquake in the Egyptian Sharm el-Sheikh

Russian tourists who were vacationing in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh experienced an earthquake.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the earthquake occurred in the Red Sea, about 100 kilometers from the coast, at a depth of about 10 kilometers.

The tremors were felt in Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada and other resorts on the Red Sea coast. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties or serious injuries.

The Russian Embassy in Egypt is clarifying the information about Russian citizens who may have been affected by the earthquake.

Tourists from Chelyabinsk who were vacationing in Sharm el-Sheikh at the time of the earthquake said that they felt strong tremors.

“We were on the beach when it happened. The ground began to shake violently, and we all ran to the hotel,” said one of the tourists.

“We were very scared, but we are all safe,” said another tourist.

The tourists said that the earthquake lasted for about a minute.

“It was a very frightening experience,” said one of the tourists.

“We are glad that we are all safe,” said another tourist.

The tourists said that they are now waiting for information from the Russian Embassy.

“We hope that everything will be fine,” said one of the tourists.

The Russian Embassy in Egypt has not yet provided any information about Russian citizens who may have been affected by the earthquake.
