On July 8, the FSB detained a Frenchman and a German at the Baikonur cosmodrome.

The detainees were engaged in illegal commercial activities and were carrying out surveillance activities.

The FSB officers detained a Frenchman and a German at the Baikonur cosmodrome on July 8. The detainees were engaged in illegal commercial activities and were carrying out surveillance activities.

During the search, the FSB officers seized equipment for illegal commercial activities, as well as materials indicating that the detainees were carrying out surveillance activities.

The detainees were taken to the FSB department for further investigation. A criminal case was initiated against them under Article 183.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Illegal Commercial Activities”).

The FSB noted that the detainees were not tourists and did not have permission to be at the Baikonur cosmodrome. The FSB also noted that the detainees had been under surveillance for some time and that their activities were a threat to the security of the Russian Federation.
