Cervi's free kick enough to down ten-man Getafe
Celta Vigo got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win over ten-man Getafe in La Liga.
The only goal of the game came from a Fabian Orellana free kick in first half stoppage time, which was headed in by Lucas Olaza. Getafe were reduced to ten men just before the hour mark, Leandro Cabrera being sent off for a second yellow card.
The win was Celta's first in four league games and lifted them to 11th in the table. Getafe remained fifth, five points behind leaders Barcelona.
Celta Vigo dominate first half
Celta Vigo started the game brightly and dominated possession in the first half. They came close to opening the scoring on several occasions, but they were unable to break down the Getafe defense.
Getafe had a rare chance to take the lead in the 30th minute, but Jaime Mata's shot was well saved by Celta goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez.
Cervi's free-kick wins it
Celta Vigo finally broke the deadlock in first half stoppage time. Orellana swung in a free kick from the left and Olaza headed in at the far post.
Getafe were reduced to ten men in the 58th minute when Cabrera was sent off for a second yellow card. The defender was shown his first yellow card for a foul on Orellana and his second for a handball.
Celta Vigo were unable to take advantage of their extra man and Getafe held on for dear life. The hosts had a couple of half-chances to equalize, but they were unable to find a way through the Celta Vigo defense.
