Autumn Reeser Reveals the Sweet Homage to 'Say Anything' in Hallmark's 'Junebug'

Exclusive: Actress Shares Behind-the-Scenes Story

Hallmark Channel's 'Junebug' Premieres June 12

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Autumn Reeser divulged the heartwarming reason why the iconic movie 'Say Anything' makes a special appearance in the upcoming Hallmark film 'Junebug.'

Reeser stars as Juniper, a book editor on the cusp of her 40th birthday, who unexpectedly rekindles a childhood connection through a magical twist of fate. The actress shared that the decision to include a nod to 'Say Anything,' which starred John Cusack and Ione Skye, was the brainchild of writer Summer Isreal Johnson.

“Summer had this idea to incorporate 'Say Anything' into the story, and I thought it was brilliant,” Reeser revealed. “It's a movie that's so iconic, and it perfectly captures the nostalgia and yearning that Juniper is feeling at this stage in her life.”

Reeser went on to say that 'Junebug' has been a passion project for her for the past five years, and that the story holds a special place in her heart. “This movie is really about second chances and finding love when you least expect it,” she said. “I hope it will resonate with audiences and bring them a little bit of joy and hope.”

'Junebug' premieres on Hallmark Channel on June 12th.
