The Home Depot Announces Second Quarter Fiscal 2024 Results

The Home Depot, the world's largest home improvement retailer, today reported sales of $43.2 billion for the second quarter of fiscal 2024.

This represents a 4.2% increase from the same period last year. Comparable sales, which exclude the impact of new store openings and store closures, increased by 3.7% in the second quarter. The company's net earnings for the second quarter were $4.7 billion, up 9.2% from the same period last year.

The Home Depot's results were driven by strong demand for home improvement products, as consumers continue to invest in their homes. The company saw growth in all of its major categories, including appliances, building materials, and tools. The company's online sales also continued to grow, accounting for 19% of total sales in the second quarter.

“We are pleased with our second quarter results, which reflect the continued strength of the home improvement market,” said Craig Menear, chairman and CEO of The Home Depot. “Our team did an outstanding job of serving our customers and executing our strategic initiatives. We remain confident in the long-term growth of our business and are well-positioned to continue to deliver strong results for our shareholders.”
