US Open Cup Semifinals Set for August 27-28

The semifinals of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will take place on Tuesday, August 27th, and Wednesday, August 28th. Four teams remain in contention for the oldest cup competition in American soccer.

Sporting Kansas City vs. Indy Eleven

Sporting Kansas City and Indy Eleven will meet in the first semifinal at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas on Tuesday, August 27th at 7:00 PM CT.

Sporting Kansas City, a four-time champion of the Open Cup, will be looking to reach the final for the first time since 2017. They have advanced to the semifinals after victories over FC Dallas, the Colorado Rapids, and Sacramento Republic FC.

Indy Eleven, a USL Championship club, will be making their first appearance in the semifinals of the Open Cup. They have already knocked out two MLS teams, Minnesota United FC and the New England Revolution, on their run to the last four.

Other Semifinal Matchup

The other semifinal will feature the Philadelphia Union, the defending champions, taking on the New York Red Bulls at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, August 28th at 7:30 PM ET.

US Open Cup Final

The final of the 2023 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will be played on September 27th at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
