Florida Football Makes One Key Offensive Line Shakeup Ahead of Miami Game

Who's In, Who's Out?

Billy Napier made one key change to the Florida Gators offensive line ahead of their game against the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Out: Ethan White

Ethan White, who started the first two games of the season at right tackle, has been benched in favor of Michael Tarquin.

In: Michael Tarquin

Michael Tarquin, a redshirt sophomore, will make his first career start at right tackle against Miami.

Why the Change?

Napier did not specify why he made the change, but it's likely due to White's struggles in pass protection. White allowed two sacks and four pressures in the first two games of the season.

What to Expect

Tarquin is a more experienced pass protector than White, so the Gators should be better equipped to protect Anthony Richardson against Miami's pass rush.

Other Notes

In addition to the change at right tackle, Napier also announced that true freshman Shemar Stewart will start at left guard in place of O'Cyrus Torrence, who is out with an injury.

Stewart is a highly touted recruit who was ranked as the No. 1 guard in the 2023 class by ESPN.

Conclusion

The Gators will need to get improved play from their offensive line if they want to beat Miami on Saturday night.
