Zangi Owner Arrested For Distribution of Schedule II Narcotics
Zangi Owner John Doe Arrested
Zangi owner, John Doe, was arrested on Tuesday, September 13, 2023, following a two-month investigation by the Metro Nashville Police Department's Narcotics Division.
Schedule II Narcotics
According to the arrest affidavit, Doe was charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics, namely oxycodone. Police seized approximately 100 oxycodone pills from Zangi, located at 2101 8th Avenue South in Nashville.
Investigation
The investigation began in July 2023 after police received multiple tips that Zangi was a source of illegal drug activity. Officers conducted surveillance and made undercover purchases of oxycodone from the store. The investigation culminated in Doe's arrest and the seizure of the drugs.
John Doe's Charges
Doe is charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics, a Class B felony. If convicted, he faces a sentence of 8 to 12 years in prison.
Zangi's Response
Zangi has not yet released a statement regarding Doe's arrest. The store remains open for business.
