Ronaldo's Absence from Al Nassr's Last Match Linked to Georgina Rodriguez's Request
Transfer Saga and Debut Delay
Cristiano Ronaldo's highly anticipated debut for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr has been delayed due to a suspension carried over from his time at Manchester United.
The Portuguese forward, who joined Al Nassr on a lucrative contract in December 2022, was expected to make his debut on January 22 against Al-Ettifaq.
However, the suspension imposed by the English Football Association (FA) for an incident involving a young Everton fan's phone last April has prevented Ronaldo from featuring for his new club.
Rodriguez's Request
According to reports, Ronaldo's absence from Al Nassr's last match was not only due to his suspension but also a request from his partner, Georgina Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is said to have asked Ronaldo to stay home and rest ahead of their trip to Riyadh, the Saudi capital, where they are expected to settle permanently.
The couple is reportedly planning to move into a luxurious mansion in the exclusive Al Muhammadiyah neighborhood, close to Al Nassr's training ground.
Ronaldo's Future
Despite the suspension and the delay in his debut, Ronaldo remains a key figure for Al Nassr.
The club is keen to build its brand and global reach around Ronaldo's star power and believes his arrival will boost the league's popularity.
Ronaldo is expected to make his debut for Al Nassr in their next match against Al-Shabab on January 29.
