Russian Football Union Announces Friendly Fixtures for October

The Russian Football Union (RFU) has announced that the Russian women's national football team will face Kenya and Haiti in a pair of friendly matches in October. The matches will be played as part of the team's preparation for the upcoming FIFA Women's World Cup, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.

Kenya Friendly: October 6th in Kazan

The first friendly match will take place on October 6th at the Kazan Arena in Kazan, Russia. Kenya is currently ranked 145th in the FIFA Women's World Rankings, while Russia is ranked 24th.

Haiti Friendly: October 11th in Moscow

The second friendly match will be played on October 11th at the Sapsan Arena in Moscow, Russia. Haiti is currently ranked 55th in the FIFA Women's World Rankings.

Preparation for FIFA Women's World Cup

These friendly matches will provide the Russian women's national team with valuable preparation for the FIFA Women's World Cup. Russia has qualified for the World Cup after finishing second in their UEFA qualifying group, behind only the Netherlands.

The World Cup will be played from July 20th to August 20th, 2023, in Australia and New Zealand. Russia will be looking to improve on their performance at the 2019 World Cup, where they were eliminated in the group stage.
