Dennis Allen: I'm Just Going to Keep Fighting the Same Way I Have Since I've Been Here
New Orleans Saints Coach Dennis Allen Remains Optimistic Despite Team's Struggles
Allen Vows to Continue Battling After Saints Drop to 3-7 with Loss to Baltimore Ravens
New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen is not giving up on his team, despite a tough 27-13 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.
With the loss, the Saints fell to 3-7 on the season and are now in last place in the NFC South. It's their worst start since 2012, when they went 0-4 in their first four games.
However, Allen is not deterred. He said he believes in his team and will continue to fight until the end.
“I'm not going to give up on these guys,” Allen said. “I believe in them. We're going to keep fighting until the end.”
The Saints have been plagued by injuries this season, with several key players missing time, including quarterback Jameis Winston, wide receiver Michael Thomas, and running back Alvin Kamara.
Allen said the injuries have been a challenge, but he is proud of the way his team has responded.
“We've had a lot of injuries this year, but I'm proud of the way our guys have fought,” Allen said. “We're not going to make excuses. We're going to keep fighting until the end.”
The Saints will have a chance to turn things around when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.
Allen said he is confident his team can get back on track.
“I believe in this team,” Allen said. “We're going to keep fighting until the end.”
