Fire HD8 Not Connecting To 5GHz? Here Are Some Solutions

Why is my Fire HD8 not connecting to my 5GHz Wi-Fi?

Amazon devices seem to only support channels 36 to 48 and 149 to 165 when using 5GHz WiFi. If your router is using a different channel, your Fire HD8 will not be able to connect.

How can I fix this?

There are a few things you can try to fix this problem:

  1. Restart your modem and router. This will clear any temporary glitches that may be preventing your Fire HD8 from connecting to the 5GHz network.
  2. Make sure your router is using the correct channel. As mentioned above, Amazon devices only support channels 36 to 48 and 149 to 165 when using 5GHz WiFi. If your router is using a different channel, you will need to change it to one of the supported channels.
  3. Move your Fire HD8 closer to the router. If your Fire HD8 is too far away from the router, it may not be able to get a strong enough signal to connect to the 5GHz network.

If you have tried all of the above and your Fire HD8 is still not connecting to the 5GHz network, you may need to contact Amazon customer support for further assistance.
