Beauty and the Beast (TV series)


Beauty and the Beast is an American fantasy drama television series developed by Sherri Cooper-Landsman, Jennifer Levin, and Bill Haber. It is loosely based on the 1987 CBS series of the same name, which was itself based on the 1987 film of the same name. The series premiered on October 11, 2012, on The CW and ran for four seasons, ending on June 15, 2016.


The series follows Catherine “Cat” Chandler (Kristin Kreuk), a homicide detective who is shot and rescued by Vincent Keller (Jay Ryan), a former US Army Ranger who has been turned into a beast-like creature by a military experiment gone awry. Cat and Vincent fall in love, but their relationship is complicated by Vincent's condition and the threats they face from those who want to capture or kill him.
